Holding On to Something Gone is an ongoing project at the Davenport Jail in which I trace the movement of sunlight as it travels across the walls, with graphite.
Situated within a former jail, a place historically defined by the measurement and experience of time, the work considers our attempts to hold onto what is constantly passing. Each mark documents a fleeting moment, transforming the walls into a record of light, duration, and change.
The project remains in progress and is open to the public by appointment through July 11, 2026.
