Projects

In this multi-segmented project, I constructed sculptural arrangements inside of my bedroom using objects from my home and garden during the implementations of shelter-in-place in Santa Cruz County. Simulating building processes akin to my early memories, I composed objects with the childlike sensibility used in the making of imagined environments made with Legos, woodblocks, Hot Wheels, my rock collection, and other miscellaneous things I had access to at home as a young boy. The use of “I Spy” in the title is a nod to the I Spy books I enjoyed in grade school for their visually immersive and participatory imagery and drew upon their visual vocabulary in the making of this work.
