The Way Everything Comes and Goes in Waves is a site specific drawing made over the course of one year inside the historic Davenport Jail. From July 22, 2025, to July 22, 2026, I traced the movement of sunlight as it entered the building, producing a visual record of the Earth's complete orbit around the sun. The accumulating marks transform fleeting moments of light into a lasting archive, revealing patterns that are otherwise imperceptible. The piece reflects on the cyclical nature of change, suggesting that light, time, memory, and experience are always in motion, arriving and receding in recurring rhythms.
